Privacy Policy

Last updated 16 August 2026.

This policy explains what happens to your information when you use drjoprendergast.com. It is written to describe what this website actually does, rather than to cover every possibility, and it is kept deliberately short.

Who is responsible

This website is operated by Dr Jo Prendergast. If you have a question about anything in this policy, please get in touch through the contact page.

What is collected

The only personal information this site collects is what you type into one of its forms and choose to send. Depending on the form, that may include:

  • your name and the organisation you are enquiring on behalf of;
  • your email address and phone number;
  • details about an event you are enquiring about, such as dates, location, format and audience;
  • anything else you write in a message field.

Nothing is collected simply because you read a page. There is no analytics, no advertising or social media tracking, and no third-party scripts, fonts or content delivery networks on this site. Your browser makes no requests to any other company when you visit.

How it is used

Information you send is used only to reply to you and to deal with what you asked about, such as answering a speaking enquiry or sending material you requested. If you subscribe to the newsletter or to receive the book chapter, your email address is used to send it, and every issue has an unsubscribe link.

Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone for their own marketing.

Where it is stored

Form submissions are stored in this website’s database and are also emailed so they can be read and answered. That means the information is handled by the company that hosts this website and by the email provider used to receive it. Both are ordinary commercial service providers acting on Dr Jo’s instructions.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to deal with them and to keep a reasonable business record, and are deleted when there is no longer a reason to hold them. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies for ordinary visitors. Cookies are used only to keep the site’s administrator signed in when managing the site.

Accounts and comments

There are no visitor accounts on this site, and comments are switched off, so there is nothing for you to register for and no public posting.

The burnout questionnaire

The burnout questionnaire is a self-check for your own use. It does not record, store or transmit your answers.

Your rights

You can ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Please make the request through the contact page and it will be answered within a reasonable time.

This site is operated from Australia and handles personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). If you are not satisfied with how a privacy question has been handled, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page with a new date at the top.
